The System Bus in CPU

The most important way to begin with here, is first of all to get a definition of what is the System Bus. This can be done by following this link to a definition.

What we are basically talking about here, is all about links between the parts, units and registers found in the CPU and the way that they can communicate to the other devices and units. In fact if we keep this image in mind it would help us a lot to understand:

Moreover, you can also listen to the Episode 3 of the podcast CompuTech to get to know more informaiton about what is the System Bus!

CompuTech Episode 3

Hope you get a good level of understanding about the topic of CPU as we will start a new topic as from next week. If you have any questions please write them in the comment section so that we clear everything about this topic!

Registers in CPU

So far we got to know what is the CPU, what is its use and what is it made of with regards to processors. However, in the CPU one also finds what we call registers. What are registers? The word register on its own has a lot of meaning but when it comes to registers inside the CPU, it has only one meaning.

Listen to the Episode 2 of CompuTech Podcast to know more about the registers that are found inside the CPU.

CompuTech Episode 2

When you're done with that, take a look at this video, which is a self-explanatory which visually explains exactly what registers have we just talked about.

Hope you enjoyed the second part of this topic.

The CPU

What is the CPU? Most of the students tends to say that it is the brain of the computer. That is right but why do we call it so? Since the computer is not a human how can it have a brain?

Let us first start by watching this video to understand well why do we call it the brain of the computer:

First Post

Hi this is my first post on this Blog to introduce myself and the idea behind this blog.

Basically, I am a Computer Studies Teacher teaching Computer Studies (optional subject) and ICT (general subject) in two secondary schools as I am a shared teacher. I teach the elder students in the secondary school: mainly Form 3, 4 and 5.

The idea behind this blog
This blog is created to introduce some concepts of Computer Studies which would be ideal to help the students to understand more the topics that we would be covering in schools. Moreover, it would also be ideal for the students to use both the blog to watch videos and images and read about the topics while they can also listen to the podcasts that they have downloaded, in order to be able to revise the topics before examination periods.

I hope you enjoy my blog :)
